Longest river in Tennessee Jesse
I did several trips with him on the Au Sable and Manistee Rivers. Great guy. I remember him chastising my fishing partner for making too many false cast "Put it on the water, there aren't any fish...
Jesse; I've been known to be a bit "Testy" but not "Grumpy". A warm water fisherman would enjoy the Duck as you never know what you may hook up! I've caught Rainbow's, Shell Crackers, Rock Bass,...
Give me a shout, I can show you around the Duck and Elk Rivers. Also Tim's Fly's and Lie's in Lynchburg.
Jeff; One was made from 7X tippet rated at 3.1 lbs. w/tippet ring. It broke around 8.5 lbs. One made from 6X tippet rated at 4 lbs. w/Shorb loop went to over 13 lbs. with out braking. Another one...
John; Now you've got me thinking (and it hurts!!)!! The leaders Brad tested that had Shorb loops were stronger than the ones with tippet rings.
Hmmmmm!! I called it Jinking or twitching!? I was the only one to catch a trout one day on the Elk River and it when Jinking, Twitching or Moving an olive soft hackle. One afternoon Warren and I...
Well said John. I do feel for someone who seems to crave the sympathy of others but enough is enough. It certainly must make a negative impact new and younger members. I hope he is seeking help...
Gerri, you have a lifetime supply of furled leaders on the way!!
Hey babe's check in on the Chat once in a while! Love to talk to ya.
Now that we have Hi Jacked this thread let me say that Kaboom1 has made some "Strain Gage" tests that tend to support John's report.
At the risk of Hi Jacking this thread I must say Thanks Beaver!! We tie fly's with shinny bead heads so why on earth would a small ring or swivel 4' or more away bother a fish!!?? The more I read...
Gerri; A furled leader made from 4 lb. test mono or fluorocarbon will have a break strength of 12 lbs. Which should handle your Stripers. A braided leader is hollow and will spray water a furled...
Brad; It looks like we are up to 10 + for the cook out. Need to hear from Chefy yet.
And the tools http://i235.photobucket.com/albums/ee175/jackwhise/th_TyingKit003_zps85f769c2.jpg
Here's how I did mine. http://i235.photobucket.com/albums/ee175/jackwhise/th_TyingKit002_zpsafcfeb1b.jpg
Coats & Clark has 3 - 4 colors, I made a pink one for someone a few years back.
Yep, have to check that one out/
Not much action here lately!? Anyone testing out any new materials for furled leaders. I've had some great results with 7 & 6X tippet mono. Expensive but a very nice leader!
Aka ffb! Hope you have as many more as I have had and them some!
Good grief!! Foo is 25 and I darn near missed it!! Happy birthday from on of the "Old Guys"!! I hope to see you again at next years Idaho Fish-In.

Today WarrenP, Popperfly and I had the privilege of fishing with some of the most beautiful women a man could meet. Through a "Pre-Arrangement we were to meet them at the pond on Arrowhead Ranch in...
Me too!! Unable to start a new paragraph or add to list. Do you guys also now have Spell Check? That's when my problem started!
Looks like we'll have 9 or 10 for the cookout. That will be a nice group. I can pick up a jar of Muscadine Jelly for a casting contest prize
