If you're going to try it, I would buy both the spring cam and the drag adjustment screw, as they could have different threads between the knock offs and the pfluegers. Then just pry up the clip that...
I've been unable to find a better price. This is what I spool on my reels. I've had fish test it out a few times in the last year - on my 3 weight, 6 weight, 7 weight, and 8 weight. It still winds...
Beautifully written. Thank you for sharing the story.
Well, with the IA limit on black bass being 3, and the limit on sunfish being 25, I'm going to guess you limited out and brought home 28.
As a solvent both of them will strip the oils from your hands. Should you have a sensitivity to them, you'll get some irritation and a bit of redness. If you use it a lot, you'll dry your skin to...
Sounds like it might be a good hole to snorkel through some time.
To the original question, a custom rod can be light if the builder strives for it. I've seen Orvis blanks built up to be lighter than their factory counter parts by using thin coatings, and cork...
No one has mentioned the Orvis Frequent Flier series, but I'd certainly look into that. I have a Stowaway 7 8wt and should anything happen to it I'd be looking at the Orvis rods.
What is the vintage of the Loomis IMX?
Their joke falls apart when you consider that Sage does market a 0, 00, and 000 weight rod as well as a rod called the "Bluegill." So, essentially, as has already been pointed out, there is a market...
Thanks, Sagefisher.
I picked up a Sage XP 4100 on an whim, and reading this has me looking forward to trying it. Too bad there are no trout streams in South Texas. I haven't even lined it yet....
Have you contacted Sage about their warranty?

Did you see this?
Pflueger made a lot of fly reels. It's worth anywhere between $5 and $250, but most likely in the $20 range. What is the model name and number? Pictures would really help too.
That's it! Officially they're called an Atlantic Cutlassfish, but they go by ribbonfish down here. I had a chance to hit the water for a few casts before work and they were tearing up the finger...
I admit with the picture posted above that its a bit of a tough guessing game if you're not not used to fishing the coast down here. I suppose they're not all that commonly seen as they're not so...
You've got to watch your fingers around those teeth! I thought I was being careful but have tooth marks on both hands.

That's the seat I bought to put on my Sage VT2 690-4 blank. Nice touch on the thread on the nuts. I was considering adding that to my build so it's great to see how it will look. Even the right...
The last rod blanks I had shipped to me were in sdr 32.5 Nice and light. Our local homestores just stock the heavy stuff. I've been reusing the 32.5 to send out completed rods for Christmas...
Do you know what type of glue was used? Epoxy is pretty standard for that service, so I'd assume that it was used.
Also, if you don't have an insert laying around you could put in a removable...
I enquired about their current line up and was told:
"Think of our ZXL is a refined LL series. The tapers are close but they
use our G5 graphite which has more feel and is much lighter.

I like to use an insert, rather than a sleeve. It's a cleaner look when finished, and should hold up well that close to the tip. Essentially you're creating a spigot ferrule, but glueing both ends....
Thank you criscip. It sounds like a nice reel. I prefer modern to vintage for this application, however, so will respectfully decline.
Thanks, Maodiver. I checked the Albright site, but they no longer sell the bugatti, and their GP and GPX are heavier and more expensive than what I'm searching for on this rod.
