Yes, I stand corrected. But I still like "Cabelas" lines for the buck.

Here's my two cents:

I think Cabelas makes a very good fly line for the buck.

The links seems like its for a spey rod. I have one Echo rod - spey - and I think it's a great rod for the money and, unlike some less expensive rods, the Echo looks great.
Of course my main...

One day I hope to have the bucks to buy a good bamboo rod. For now I can only dream.

Warren,
Thanks so much for your kind words about my story. They mean a lot to me.

Some good points made by others.
BTW again: I don't fish for Pike, but when I fish below the surface for Stripers, I use a sinking line and an unweighted fly.
Not only is there more of a chance...
Here's my two cents: I always try casting the smallest-sized flies that I think will work for my fishing situation. Also, when casting heavy flies, unless I'm making a short cast and my fly line is...
The tip guide on my graphite rod is loose. What should I use to
secure it? Epoxy? Rubber Cement?
Thanks in advance,

I think one of the advantages of distance casting is that if you can cast 90 feet, casting 40 or 50 feet will be so much easier, so much less tiring.

To add to the overpowering comment: you might be applying too much power too early. If you're hauling try to delay your forward-cast haul. (You want to begin you downward haul when your casting arm...
I'm sure it's a good reel. The only concern I would have is that, in the past, Cabelas has often changed their reel designs, so getting an extra spool down the road might be tough.
(That happened to...
I tend to fish emergers like dries. Last year I read somewhere about fishing emergers with
indicators.
Does anyone have an opinion?
Randy
I might post that info the the Classic fly Rod Forum.

I suggest casting and, if you can, fishing an XP, as it's at the other end of the spectrum from a Far and Fine. You might like something more in the middle in terms of stiffness, like a St. Croix...
I do a lot of bass fishing during the summer, so if I had to buy a vest again I'd probably buy a mesh one.

I don't have their catolague. I won't buy a vest that's not breathable.
I did that once, what a nightmare. How light is the vest? To me the lighter
the better; and I like pockets, though I don't...
I cast with both arms. To improve my lefty casting I chores with my left hand, like washing dishes. I also practice throwing lefty. That really helps.

I have first generation Aquastealth. They simply don't grip as well as felt. After taking a two falls - one in cold water - I started putting on felt sandals on on my Auastealth. To me the most...
Deanna,
I'm so, so sorry that you have to have another surgery. It must be so disappointing. Think of all the people who care about you. Wishing you a speedy recovery.
