Uh....how about bear spray?
The 14 flies tied by Syl Nemes' hands:
Like I said, you have Vol. 2 of the little 2 volume set. The black covered one is 60 pages and is the one I am most interested in.
I have found the 2 volume set at a reasonable cost.
Want to sell yours? I am not interested in the Streamside Guide they also published under their own company, Comparahatch Publishing. Just want the little book "Comparahatch". I was told by others...
I have been a big fan of soft hackle flies ever since reading Sylvester Nemes' little books. The first one, as far as I am aware, was published in '75 and I enjoyed it a lot...it was The...
Thanks guys. Saw the books on ebay which including the one I want.
Don't need it that badly.....
It's just a little 60 page booklet. Gotta be some around.
AlanB and John,
Good points. Thanks for the input.
Or, maybe even an X-Caddis with them?
Anyone put antenna on your Elk Hair Caddis. I rarely see this, and most say it makes little, if any, difference, but just wonder what you think.
Looking for this book in hard cover. I think that is the only version printed. Would most appreciate the limited edition leather bound version.

The Hardy Syntrex rods are proprietary and can't be used by other rod manufacturers. If it were available to all, other companies would be...
Could you provide a pic or a link to the CDC X-Caddis you refer to?
a Sparkle Elk Hair
Yes. As the X-Caddis is just an elk hair caddis with a shuck. The shuck on caddis patterns has been very effective for me. As has the shucked sparkle dun. It suggests an insect having trouble...
Depends on the item.
Would not do so with a rod. One of my favorite rods is the Hardy Zenith. It uses a proprietary Syntrex blank which somehow embeds nano sized mica particles throughout the...
Trailing Shuck: Straight Zelon
Body/Underwing: Single CDC Feather
Overwing: Deer Hair
So, what are your conclusions?
Something about tying the "old-school" type flies.
Wood duck wings
"Nearly Cree" hackle and tails
Adams type dubbing.
I had the Masters. Sold it. Bought a jvice and really love it!!
I posted what I called "a variant of...." And was quickly "taught the error of my ways"
I know what is meant by "a variant. Of one pattern or another". Some did not.
I am with...
Wasn't long ago that you would be challenged for using the term " variant" here.
Careful.....I fished above Redding one summer and the highs were over 100!!! Stiflingly hot!!
