It is on wholesale sales which includes flies tied for commercial purposes.
Got Will Godfrey and Rene Harrop to pose for a photo. Two great fishermen and fly tiers!

In the parking lot above my fishing spot on the Lower Henry's Fork, I noticed this sign.
The project is funded by the federal tax on wholesale fishing gear including commercial tiers sales.
I have...

No big Green Drakes today,
Had to go with smaller fare like these.

The flies in the foreground are tied by Rene, Bonnie, or their two children.
The flies in the background are some of their "normal" flies.

While in West Yellowstone today, I made the obligatory stop at Blue Ribbon Flies.
I had once mentioned the fly plate of Al Troth's that hangs in the shop.
It certainly shows that Al Troth may...

I think that's why I said "...take any REASONABLE precaution...."
I have the rubber!plastic? boots with studs. I believe they are the safest I have ever used for wading........
This article references a study which could perhaps be found;

If you meant mine: a fiber of cock de Leon on each side . Tie in before wrapping dubbing at the tie-in point at the head.
I am one who believes we should take any reasonable precaution we can so as not to do damage to the streams we love.
If you don't believe the studies that say boots help spread a stream disease, why...
Partridge feathers are quite delicate you can't put much tension when you wrap.
There is another technique. You cut the tip out of the feather, place then feather over the eye pointing to the rear...
Really impressive! How long do they take to "tie"?
Byron
John,
If you use forceps, you don't need to get wet either.
Larry,
What you say MUST be true, because they take my flies!
Byron
Oh, to be so organized!
Looks great!
John,
I've seen that before. I have seen guys glue a blob of sand particles together. That seems close to the line to me.
I agree with most of that. The new rubber/plastic nets and a forcep bring the possibility of fish injury to a small fraction, I believe.
Yes, John, I think it would. There are artificial patterns.....
I think it would be "akin" to gluing a nymphal shuck to a hook.
To me, the particular pleasure of fly fishing is in trying to "fool"...
AlanB,
Looks like a real killer pattern!!!
John,
Don't you enjoy bringing them to net and enjoying their beauty up close?
Jack,
I fished the area for 15 yrs or so.
I would make a suggestion, if it might work for you.
Fish the South Branch of the Root River out of Preston Minnesota. Much better fishing, in my...
