Gulfwax...
Yes I have, but it was in 1982 or 83 and on an island north of the arctic circle, so it's not so useful now! Sorry! There were char in the freshwater lakes.
I was knee deep in Lake Tanneycomo when the first one hit. When I got back to the lodge I took a quick shower and by the time I got out, the second plane hit. We grabbed some breakfast and headed...
I've had one for a while. No issues at all.
I do if it's over knee deep and "riffley". Half Palsa foamies usually. I've got some Thing-a-ma-bobbers to try out in the next few weeks.
That is a toad! I caught one that was around 11 one time on a cricket, but it wasn't anywhere close to that deep and fat.
I'm only 48, but all of this right down to the location!
What he said! Small pike are good, too.
This. I use the dark ones far more than the ambers. If I had it to do over again (or was buying a single pair) I would just get the dark ones.
Nets, yes most of the time. My biggest fish was landed without one and I quickly remedied that situation.
Hybrid. I've never seen a redear with yellow on the fins like a green sunfish. The mouth isn't big enough to be a "pure" greenie...
Frogg Toggs for the price. There are better out there if you want to spend.
1999 Nissan Frontier V6. I can get @24 on the highway, but still between my wife and I our fuel bill is quite high. I try to limit it to once a week or so, weather permitting. Three weeks ago we were...
I like to figure it out for myself and by the time I "get there", there's not much left for hiring guides.
I think I subconciously alter my stroke based on what I'm trying to accomplish and the type of rod. I know that I look like a monkey and a football with an 8 weight and I fistfight with 3-4 weights....
Funny you should say that. Many years ago, my grandpa called me and told me he caught a 14 1/2" crappie. I asked him if he was going to get it stuffed. He just laughed and said "God no, we cut it up...
I haven't, but it's on my list of things to do. I think if I ever went somewhere that I felt overwhelmed by the size or type of water (big western river, for example) I sure would.
Jeez oh #$%& that's a big redear. I wouldn't kill it on purpose, but there would sure be a glass replica mount made of that.
Ooooooh...Wipers...Maybe someday! I love Wipers!!!
A little late to the party, but here's my two cents. Buy a 5wt Clearwater combo. Use the orange line until you get the hang of casting again. Cut it off and then use it as a spare. Replace with a new...
I've got several. Zero issues.
Anything from Fly Max and Fly Nation makes my brain bleed.
Congratulations! I wish you nothing but happiness for the years ahead.
I have a stowaway, no issues at all. Good rod.
