Out this am getting some gills on various flies. On one cast a swallow took the fly and went about 25 feet before dropping it. I then
caught an 8 inch bass.

Ants from shelf liner material with a parachute hackle. Black and tan have the sides trimmed some.

Parachute hackle works better for me on the ponds I fish.
