Please post more about 5 and 7 piece rods. I am looking for a rod to carry hiking and camping. I just started fly fishing about a month ago, and already I am hooked!
Really appreciate it guys. I feel like I made an investment instead of wasting money on more toys. Thanks!
Oh, and sorry about the bad angles. I dont own a vice...yet! and I just got my camera...
I know what these are and have some idea how to fish them. I just got so cought up in taking pictures of my flies that I couldn't resist. That is everything in my flyfishing arsenal.
OK, I'm a cheapo! I got a Pflueger combo with 5 flies. Any ideas what they are?
These were packaged as a wet assortment.
Thanks for pointing out the picture mistake, Gad. I really did not know I had the two sets mixed up! Lol...
These were sold as a caddis assortment. What are caddis anyway? A friend has one of the flies from this set. It is like the one on the left, except it is tied with green thread.
I bought these as a nymph assortment
These were in a package of dry flies. The first three pictures are true to the flies themselves. The last is light grey with a white plume that sticks straight up. It was difficult to photograph.
Mac, I understand. What the fly is called and the kind of fish it is intended to catch is not as important as whether or not it will work for the type of fish I am trying to catch, and I will never...
That would be a dream come true. I've fished for channel cat my whole life, so I know what kind of fight they can have. Just started flyfishing. I can't imagine what that would be like on my #5/6. ...

I have never left the US for anything. I rarely leave Arkansas for much outside of work. I dont expect the radicals here to put much into C&R for several years. They are still too busy trying to ban...
Bet he can steal your fly and you never know its not a fish untl you reel him in!
Looks like I am going to have to learn more about bugs to catch more fish. Think I'm finally getting it. There really is no shortcut...
Think I will still post more pictures of the flies I have...
The fly pictured on the Adams page is almost identical to the one I took the picture of. Thanks kengore!
I did, but I am at work, so I didn't get to spend much time there. I had a few ambulance calls during that time. I do plan to spend more time there in the future.
I took this with my cellphone, so it is not very clear. The fly's thorax/abdomen is tied in grey thread. The rest is a medium brown, with light tan wings. I do know it is a dry fly, but that is...
All I have with me this weekend is my camera-phone. I will have to get my wife's digital when I get home Monday for some good pictures, but I might try some from the phone to see what we can come up...
I have the rod, the reel, backing, line, leader, and flies. I have even started learning to cast. Now what? I have several, probably more than 20, flies, but I don't know what to fish them for or...
