Thank you looks like I may have to jump on one
Forgive the rookie question but did you trim the hackle on the bottom and sides of the second fly to get that effect?
Flyguy66 if you get too frustrated tying and need some flies so you can fish let me know and I will see if I can wrap a few of your patterns up for you.
Has anyone tried these out?

Very well done!
Glad to see I am not the only honest one on here. I fish as many species as I can per trip. Last month I did a couple days chasing Musky and a couple days chasing trout.OOOHHH the mess of stuff that...
I have found it very common for smallies and wallys to share the same water. very common in catarac falls in Indiana and several other waters I have fished.
I am thinking of getting a tourbus. I can never make up my mind on what to bring and have a real hard time getting everything in the van. funny but true.....and rather sad.

Forgive the off topic question but what vise is being used in the pic?
here we go again
I would use teflon or graphite or reel grease NOT WD40! I lost a shotgun using it to lube the inner workings.
That is cool with me I need to make sure I have the guides I need and I will bring a blank too. On the fly swap I was thinking whatever you are wrapping if you want to trade but that happens anyway.
I should be able to make that happen. Last week it did seem like an impromto material swap I guess there is little need to get too organized about it.
All I can say is WOW!
Would everyone be up for a table fly swap for the folks who show up? I am going to make one of the "Jax Smelt" streamers with a slight twist in size 6, 4x long.
If the manufacturer is willing to use a cheap flimsy box then they really do not care about the delivered condition of the vice. I belive that is the thinking behind the box as a qualifier for the...
I have been doing quite well on a #beadhead Crackleback with a metalic red floss body

I am bringing a frog and a beatle foam die tommorrow. I will share but try not to wear them out.
when making clouser style minnows wrap all the eyes on first and zap a gap them. some to glide some to jig. For me it makes it esier to keep the pattern consistant and more durable by seperating the...
I am a huge fan of anvil vices and the griffin 3arp all 3 of these are very High quality and are priced very reasonable.
