Re: Are Jon Boats welcome in this forum?

Small jon boats are dangerous indeed! I've had a few close calls in my 10 footer.
There's a business here on one of our local lakes that rents boats, and they had to replace all of...

Re: Fishing the Catt (Fish Porn)

Where did you get your stats? Northwest WA has many rivers that are loaded with steelhead! Right now, the salmon are spawning so egg patterns work very well. (Steelhead follow the salmon from the...

Re: bending hooks without breaking them

Buy cheaper hooks if you want to bend them. I tie a lot of jigs and have found that Eagle Claw 570 hooks are the most bendable. They are also the cheapest - and already have a 90 degree bend....

Re: Are Jon Boats welcome in this forum?

Thanks - My boat ain't pretty but I love it! No trailer needed, and it's easy for one person to load and unload. No insurance necessary. It's the perfect one-man rig. I generally avoid larger...

    Re: Dust-uh-boo "feathers"

I bought one duster that had four colors, and another one that was a single color with longer fibers. (Peach is a very good color for steelhead.)

I'm still looking for a white one. Blue/white is...

    Re: Dust-uh-boo "feathers"

Don't judge this stuff by the way it looks when dry. Subsurface action is superb. It flows like marabou but retains it's shape. Very nice "silky" shine.

    Dust-uh-boo "feathers"

I was browsing in the dollar store and discovered that they carry cheap dusters made of an interesting material.
This stuff is amazing under water! Stiffer than marabou feathers, but...

I love my little 10 footer! Loading and unloading is a breeze. The swivel seat makes a HUGE difference in comfort.

Save big $$ on bunny strips

I have recently started buying bunny scraps and cutting them myself. Not only does this save a LOT of money, it allows me to cut them any way I want. Skinny, wide, and even custom crawdad pinchers...

    Re: Doubly Bunny question

Yep, just a tiny dab (applied with the tip of a toothpick) will do ya because it spreads a little when the two halves are pressed together. Using too much will completely ruin the action of the fur.

    Re: Doubly Bunny question

Keep in mind that adhesives tend to "stiffen" the action of bunny strips. The hair and hide both need to be completely soaked with H2O for them to undulate properly.
I personally like to glue both...
