Blame me; I acknowledged the knot but "knot" the original suggestion.

I'll be trying a figure 8 knot out the next time I go for Pickerel. If the knot fails I'll blame all of you!

A regular figure eight knot or some "official" fishing figure eight knot? Just thread the hook eye through and tie it?
