I'm looking for suggestions for a case or bag that is TRULY waterproof (and reliably so!) that I can use for wet wading. I need something that will fit in the pocket of my shorts and is large enough...
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year everybody!

I have enough tying material to last a couple of lifetimes and I don't NEED to buy any flies. That said, I always buy something (a couple of flies, material or hardware) when I stop in a fly shop to...
As usual, phenominal work. I really like the wrapping on the stripper guide. I take it you found the amboyna block you wee looking for! Good find.

Nice after! The before looks really cheap.

Thanks, Lew. After posting this the lightbulb went off in my head- email Waterworks! Duh!

I'll second Joe's suggestion. Steve of Midwest Custom Fly Rods can help you out. He's a really good guy and, this being your first build, will certainly point you in the right direction.
Go...
Beautiful workmanship! I know that rod will be enjoyed.

Nice work, Steve. I can't let my wife see this (she loves anything purple) or she'll want me to build a like-kind fly rod! That will only lead to the first rod I built (it was for her) and the...
Bob got ya? :D Looks great. Out of curiosity, what type of finish did you use on the wraps?
John
I've built two using garnet w/gold metallic trim on one and black/white w/silver metallic trim on the other. I didn't use color preserver on either rod and (watch the modesty) they look great.

God rest his soul. My heart goes out to his family and friends.
A fine rodcrafter that I was going to try to meet personally. My loss.

Well done! :-P

ROFLMAO! Yeah, that's why I started tying. If I save any more money, I'll be completely broke! But you may as well spend money on something you enjoy.
I usually tie 4 to 6 of each pattern per...
Yeah, that's pretty much me (troutwise). EXCEPT:
I was fishing the headwaters of the Brodhead in the Poconos. 2 years in a row, the exact same stretch of water, same time of the year- mid May,...
Throw my name in the hat, also. And thanks- it's very kind of you to do this for us.

I've built rods for myself and for friends. The quality is way better than a factory rod of the equivalent price. As to the expense for the building gear and supplies: a) the more you build the...

Found some fishing equipment in the Scudder Falls (Delaware River) area today. If it's yours, please PM me with a description of the equipment and the location. Be happy, it's your lucky day.

Polluting another site with your hack work, eh Steve? :p
Seriously, though, Steve does great work, as these pics attest. And although it hurts me to say it, he's a great guy, too. I'm a very...
That's Steeldrifter (Steve Clark), and here's his website: http://www.midwestcustomflyrods.com/index.htm
I had him build a rod for my nephew (Matrix, not Tiger Eye. Sorry). It came out great. He...
