Thanks for sharing that, Neil. I still miss seeing new articles from JC. I can't believe it's been 4 years since he passed.

Thanks for sharing that, Neil. I still miss seeing new articles from JC. I can't believe it's been 4 years since he passed.
Nice share.
I don't want to sound like I am nit-picking, but I thought that this site has an article detaling similar knowledge. It may be under the FF101 group of articles Castwell wrote for...
Ron,
Sorry to hear that. I can't speak from experience, but I heard from some of my former coworkers years ago about their former coworker who nearly ripped a urinal off the wall passing a stone....
Makes perfect sense. Those fish that escaped warned the other fish about what was going on. Word got around and soon the fish stopped biting.
So bait fisherman do not deserve to catch wild trout, huh? And people wonder why fly fisher people are seen as snobs.
In VA, its always been catch and kill, you can be fined for releasing the fish. Athough MD is now offering a reward, the fish has not quite taken over the Potomac, yet.

Sorry, I have no recommendations, I'm just chiming in to say that I think this thread should be in the running for the most interesting title of the year. :)

When you start seeing fashion stuff at places like CVS, if the trend is not over, it is on its last legs.
You mean there was a bridge in the picture? ;)
HAH! I would not be surprised if she did that on purpose for just this purpose! :) ("Sir could you do me a favor and give this paper to that guy over there, here's $20.")
Good article. I am one of those who does not properly know how to prepare a fish, which is one reason why I practice catch and release, although even if I knew I would still catch and release most...
Joe,
Not sure I understand, is this something that happens to her "regularly"? The reason I ask is that since I was 16 I started having episodes of rapid heartbeat called heart palpitations. In...
My son goes there frequently due to doctor's appointments with specialists, although it is quite a hike for us (two hours one way). There is a nice size river that runs through or very near...
LF, I think you should have had some fun with it. Like say, "I have included a good trout recipe at the end of this article, its one that has been in the family for ages and as a consolation prize...
LF,
I ride a train to work everyday because my commute is pretty long (1.5 hours one way). Our commuter train line shares the rails with Amtrak and freight traffic. One of the things I noticed...
But he IS fly(ing) fishing!

Rainbow,
Funny you should ask, I did almost that last night. I was actually attempting to fix the switch when a lead for the batteries broke off the switch and killed the hopes of ever getting...
OK, my question is not really FF related, but I guess it could be used to help out a fly tyer. I have 2 immediate uses for a gooseneck (flexible neck) flashlight holder. One would be for my Grill...
Jim,
I agree that people can get carried away by C&R, but, again very respectfully, I disagree with your assertion that there are a lot of fish out there. Whenever I go fishing, I am lucky to...
I very respectfully disagree. How is anyone supposed to know about a technique that may potentially be beneficial unless it is put out there? If there are any places where this is legal (I don't...
There you go, choker chain for fish! :)

Apology not accepted because it was not warranted (here you go, save it for when you need it :) ). I did not really take your post as confrontational, just pointing out that despite my thread title,...
Kelly, if you read my post, I did say it was misleading because it was not really "hookless". Sorry that I missed the discussion the past couple of times around, it took flashy pictures to catch my...
Was at the doctor's last Friday and while in the waiting room thumbing through a magazine that I don't normally read but drew my interest (from the other magazines in the waiting room), saw the...
Since I use glasses to see normally, I am "stuck" with fit overs (vs. carrying prescription sunglasses that I probably won't be carrying all the time :) ). Anyway, I tried Solar Shields that I found...
