Catch and release because they are a lot of trouble to mess with and make decent table fair. I just dont care that much for stripers and hybrids, small whites caught in the winter arent bad but this...
Someone lied to you when they said they were excellent to eat.
I have a 5 piece 3 weight stowaway rod and I love it. IT is a good casting rod.
I have had them fixed every way under the sun and they still taste like a damned ole striped bass red meat or no red meat. I grew up catching those damn things along wtih white bass and I dont like...
Did someone say good eating? Those things are horrible to eat but extremely fun to catch. The bream are biting here in Arkansas, now there is some eating.
I just purchased a Cabelas stowaway 3 weight rod that I absolutely love. That rod cast great and fishing for bream is wonderful with it. Best $135 I ever spent.
I have found the only bad part about using spinner bait skirts is they are to flimsie and I like for my rubber legs to hold out straight and stand up. You can buy those things in micro sizes for...
Lots of water still in that part of the world maybe it will be down when your here on your trip.
They raised hell about them here in Arkansas several years ago. They ended up helping clean up the river and as far as I know have not caused any serious damage to anything.
The driftless area sounds great but I am just going to be in town for a few days at the Mayo clinic but if I have to go back up I will check into the driftless area.
I will be there early next month any good fly fishing shops or fishing related attractions me and the wife should not miss?
You can't go wrong with a Dyna King, Kingfisher for around $100.
Check Hook and Hackle, they have the cheapest prices on new vices I have found on the net.
Go to www.flyfishingarkansas.com and ask John. Thats his site and he is more than willing to help.
I believe the fly is actually tied as thin as possible.
If you can find Zach Matthews site, I think its the Itterant Angler he has a pod cast of how to tie it. It is a very simply fly to tie.
No one is upset, I think they all tie in together. We can talk jigs or flies either one. Streamer hair is also a good substitute for jig tails and I also found some trilobal antron chenille on...
Kinda off topic but you should check on Davy Wottons wet fly ways. He fished lots of wets here in ARkansas with good success.
I put 4w on my RE 1 and 5 w on my lightspeed one. Just got some gel spun backing that lays flat and I have had no problems at all with either set up.
www.bigcamo.com has both neoprene and breathables for us big guys.
I frequent another board that does claps/slaps, its mostly in fun but you can slap someone and it rates like
100/45
They are also damn good eating.
Got my notice in the mail today.
So they are out.
From the wing dam at the state park to Bull Shoals Dam is closed until 1/31/08.
The little red is fishing quite well right now as well, Yong specials in olive have been a good fly for the red. Bull...
