Dave Whitlock uses quite a bit of glue, esp on his hoppers (can't argue with success!).
I generally use CA glues to coat underbodies (lead wire on the sides, etc), gel types for putting eyes on....
Loctite Stick-N-Seal (WalMart, Lowe's, etc) is also very good. Haven't lost an eye yet, even on deer hair bugs.
The fur with the white bands on the guard hairs (next to the red bucktail) is gray fox.
The black look like tail- maybe calf tail dyed black
The hooks look like Mustad 34007
Good looking...

Flossing is running the line at...
Okay then...
Was kinda wondering the same thing, only from a different point of view. I generally tie a loop in my backing and loop it around the reel so it locks on itself as you reel in....
$10 with a ton of supplies? Am I reading those numbers right? That's McDonalds lunch for two. Big woop.
Maybe I'm a tad obsessed (still in denial), but I'd love to have a 50-year-old vise just for...

I'll second Jack Hise for morning fog on Kentucky's Cumberland...

My wife is so cute! She CAN'T go by one of those kettles without dropping something in, no matter where, no matter when. A drop on the way in, a drop on the way out.
Her only complaint has been...
Ya know, Mike, it's stuff like that keeps me from owning a television or watching cable or whatever it is folks do these days for artificial entertainment.
Nothing like the real thing! Life is...
Won a full Giraffe Lighting System in a fly-tying contest... love it and still use it religiously.
However, after reading jimsnarocks and Eric B.'s posts, I believe I've won some things in my life...
Photo I took of Beech Flats Prong in the Smokies... makes me sigh every time I look at it!

Great story hungNtree!
Fishing and fly-fishing has given me so many fond memories, lots of funny ones! Like when I hooked a huge Northern pike and my uncle (4'6" tall and just as wide) ran a...
LOL! Oh man, that's funny! Thanx for that!
Few years ago I hit a stream an hour and a half away, had a bang-up day catching trout and talking to jealous on-lookers. Got back to the car in the...
Hey, that's brilliant, Bamboozle! One of those "now why didn't I think of that?" moments.
I get in tight spots from time to time, and use the B&A cast, but smaller flies are tough to hold and...
