    In my opinion and myself using the 'V' method, twisting the leader legs simultaneously affords you symmetry in the number of turns in each leg, resulting in a better formed, equal and tighter furl.

    I personally twist and furl from the butt end, not sure if there are any particular pro's and con's in doing so by twisting at the tip, again its a preference.

    The process I use, the leader stays on the board completely through the furling and forced twisting process, only removing it to apply the shorb loop and tippet ring if required at the very last...

    Hi Larry,

    For persoanl use I apply tip rings for winter fishing in the main. I construct very small loops on my leaders and in cold weather it ain't half difficult sometimes to thread your nylon...

    Construct your first leader with half the number of threads, construct again with the second colour...
