I can't help you with the TSA inspections, but if you need to buy something in Smithers Oscars, and McBike stores on main street should have anything you would need.

    Hi Jim

I just went down and checked the 5min epoxy I have and it is water resistant, not waterproof. Does it make any difference- I don't have a clue.

I don't think 5 min epoxy is waterproof. Better check it it out if you are going to use it. I have always used regular epoxy or preferably Rod Bond.

If I was in the market for a new net, I might be tempted, but I don't think I would replace a good net just for the mesh.

Re: To weight or not to weight WATERBOATMAN

I usually start unweighted, especially if I am fishing along the shoreline or if there are visible rises. If that doesn't work I will try the weight. If that still doesn't work, I say the heck with...

Re: To weight or not to weight WATERBOATMAN

I like mine to be unweighted. If I want to add a little weight, I add a swivel between the leader and tippet. When trout are on to waterboatmen, the fishing can be awesome especially casting to...
  11. Re: Is there a single listing of available AK Best VHS and DVDs?

    Hi Ed,

I own an acreage on the Eastern slopes of the Rockies in Alberta. According to older maps there was a village/hamlet nearby called Ricinus. I wondered why they picked that name for a...
  12. Re: Is there a single listing of available AK Best VHS and DVDs?

I agree that watching a fly being tied in person or on a well done video is probably the best, however, sometimes I can't get my fingers to work the same way as the tier. This is where I find a good...
  13. Re: Is there a single listing of available AK Best VHS and DVDs?

If you are looking for a book that covers just about every technique in fly tying, the Flytiers Benchside Reference Book is the one. It's a little pricey but sometimes you find it on sale or listed...

I can't help you with the salt or estuary fishing, but in rivers almost any pattern in hot flouro pink works. I find the trick is to get it on the bottom. Pink Clousers, are great and...

Re: Need help sorting out fly line

Maybe you can rig up some sort of beam balance and weigh the fly lines. The 6wt will be heavier than the 5wt etc. You don't really care how much each weighs just which is heavier.

More Kudos for Jim. I was looking for Whiting Winger capes for Mayfly wings, I emailed Jim, told him what I wanted. The cape sent out was exactly what I requested.

Allow the line to twirl downstream with no hook, that should remove any twist in the line. Then stretch it to remove any coil

    Re: Ross Gunnison Reel
