Like Tyrone I am also the proud possessor of a Deer Creek 5/6, and it has become my favorite rod for summer steelies. I wasn't very pleased with it at first, but as usual it is matching the right...
Orvis.... hooda thunkit.... Thanks Norm.
I can't seem to find aluminum cone-heads anywhere. I tie a grape sucking leech that uses these in purple and blue.
Any help is appreciated.
If you get an answer to this one.... we would all sure be interested!!
From the NW and you spurn the spey rod..... doesn't that violate some kind of local ordinance?
I don't do that anymore..... I just find someone I can't get along with and buy her a house.
7 weeks to go.... but who's counting. Look's like I'll have time to look for Wednesday on the West Fork. :D
I followed JC's advice and bought one for my cane. It worked so well I now have another for my #6 hex. The review was dead on.
Just to get this straight.... all I have to do is accurately predict the size of the fish I am going to catch, and then pick a hook size accordingly. Hmmmmmmm...... now there's a new wrinkle on...
After JC's clear explanation [although he did leave out the important effect of the liverstofian phenagle] and the obvious way we can all immediately apply his principles.... the rest of this is...
If you're interested and can go... by all means go. This is a spectacular event. All the new gear ready to be played with, excellent casting demos..... Mark and his crew do a marvelous job.

I don't date anymore. I just try to find a woman I can't get along with, and buy her a house.
I have to agree with the tubeman. The best game by far was won by the little outsider. It takes a lot to get a jaundiced old UCLA fan up off the couch, but Boise State sure did that.
Michigan comes out to play the Pac10 champ and gets creamed. OU plays the SEC champ and barely gets out alive. Hmmmmmmmm.
I loved it DShock... a "hook and ladder" and a "statue of liberty".... Somebody got a copy of Knute Rockne's playbook at the swap meet. :P
The spammers and phishers never sleep, and the spiders just keep multiplying. You have my sympathy, JC, in lieu of something more useful.
Boy am I out of step. My problem with the BCS is that it even tries to name a national champion. I much preferred the days when the bowls reflected traditional rivalries and we all got to argue...
Whenever I am tempted to resolve to improve, I remember a friend's prominently displayed motto:
"Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive...
Whew... that's a relief. I thought that my geriatric confusion was coming back!
But wait.... isn't the Emerald Bowl UCLA vs. FS?
