I work in a Zinc Smelter, I'm a shift process plant operator.
My first on the fly was on a fly that I tied myself, which made the capture all the more special, a Damsel nymph patern.

Thanks Steve, all our Brown Trout in Tasmania are wild so are the majority of our Rainbows. The Brook Trout that I landed are from a stocking from excess farm stock, stocked just for a bit of...
Good news Bones.
I had a op to remove a Brain Tumour in 1997 and have scans every two years.
I visited a bay on one of my favourite lakes on Friday morning and was pleased to find fish rising to Caenids (similiar to Trico's), I had a good session landing 6, 2 Browns and 4 young Brookies. The...
What shame, I had some good pics to post in the Frog Water Forum.
Maybe it could be renamed to "Still Waters" or similiar.
Most of my fishing is on lakes and lagoons and the highlight of the season for me are fishing to "Tailing" fish in the early season and later fishing to Caenid feeding Browns. Caenids are our...

Thanks for the help and advice fellas, it's apreciated.
Hi Bill,
I really want brown, tan, green or even yellow bug bodies. Wapsi make them, but I've tried to find them on the web with no luck, if I could find a good source, I'd order a bulk lot over.
Thanks for the welcome fellas, this looks like a top spot. I've fished over in your part of the world, only briefly though as it was primarily a hunting trip. We had a few good sessionss on the...
Aquatic snails are one of the staple foods for Aussie Trout, especially in the colder months, they feed on them at all depths, even tailing on them in the extreme shallows only centremeters deep....
I can't get use to the "X" system, I use Maxima mostly and I know that 6pound is .22 of an inch and 4 pound is .17 of an inch. For fishing in Tasmania you rarelly need anything else.
Thanks Eric
The softer Indian capes are very good for the English Hopper Flies, these flies don't really imitate anything, but do suggest something good to eat, they should look ragged and float low in the...
G'day,
does anyone know where I can get a good source of Bug Bodies from, I particulary want #10 and #8 Spider Bug Bodies. They are like hens teeth over here in Australia, I use them for making a...
