Those flies look real fishy
The sooner everyone wakes up to the fact that the climate change philosophy is all about politics, aaaarrrgggghhhh, lets just go fishing.!!!!!
Glad you are ok and that you were able to save your rod. That boat looks very nice, is it heavy?
Nice fish and report. That first fish is a beaut.
Now that looks like fun, nice fish and nice pictures, at least you fished and caught fish. Non of those in Texas.
A five weight rod can cast a fairly big fly a #8 I cast on my 3 and 2 weight rods. Catching pan fish is especially fun on 1-2 & 3 weight rods. I mainly used to fish a 5 weight but now go with the...
Nothing wrong with mono, especially for practice, when using heavier flies cast with an open loop.
The tapered leader turns over the fly better when using heavier flies.
Wow, nice variety, nice pictures, those gills are really big and fat.
Good job, panfish are a blast on Ultra light fly tackle.
Well said, we use tinsel, fake dubbing etc, etc, what's wrong with rubber?
Well done Bill, that is good fun on the fly, thanks for sharing.
Congratulations on your meeting with Mr. Bass on your 3 weight using the "jig" hook tied fly.
That must have been a good old tussle. I too use ultra light fly rods for these adventures, this just...
Jig fly for blue gill is equivalent to Czech nymph for trout.:)
OK, so because the fly has a moulded ball/weight on the hook it is not acceptable to be classified as a fly by some!!!???
My 2 cents is that using a "jig" fly is is still fly fishing even if some...
Let's clarify what you refer to as a jig head. Is it the moulded and painted fish head on a jig (90 deg hook bend) and a rubber premoulded curly tail or minnow body affixed or is it the 90 deg hook...
Gigmaster, so true and funny too. Careful what you say to the missus, they analyze differently to us rational thinkers.:)
Agreed, what about czech nymphing where no fly line is used, only mono out the tip top? World competition fly fishing won by this method!!!
Flies started out with fur and feather but along came...
Just completed reading it on my computer, very interesting and making the up coming Spring a time to look for carp.
Excellent timing, wonderful photography. Stunning, how can we deny that there is a creator God when you see how perfectly executed that approach, the dive, the talons open up and the take off and...
Tried to read it on my Andoid tablet, will have to check it out on my home computer. From what I have read it is very interesting and these guys have got it down to a fine art. As the auther says...
Thats my plan, fish the creek come Saturday. No winter yet here in North Texas.
With you 100% with your observation and pronunciation of pecans (pea-conns). :)
In South Africa we called them prickly pears, same thing. To know when they are ripe some turn yellow when they are ripe the purple I am not sure but.... we used to take a 2x2 length of wood, nail an...
Ok will do but you may have to wait awhile, I am not too patient catching warm water species in the cold but will show the flies when I tie them up.
I respect Rick Z's observations so red bead...
Warren, that is interesting, I guess I best test out Orange on my next flies I tie, thank you.
