Rusty...of course it can be done as you describe....but a bass plug is not a light streamer :roll:

Steve..I don't know where you are re: fly fishing vs spinning but in fly fishing you are casting the weight of the line ...spinning the weight of the lure....that's why panman had to add the weight...

Wouldn't it depend on the weight of the fly? So why bother with the fly rod you'd be spin fishing?
