Nicely put. :)
Yes Sir, they are. Be careful though, the saddles with chickabou are not. Only the Brahma Hen necks.
Scott, that's a very nice piece of work. Well done Sir!
Almost spit my coffee at my laptop when C.O. came on the screen. Too funny!
Byron, if they didn't like ya, they wouldn't razz ya. :)
Silver Creek...thanks for the info!
This aquatic worm pattern was featured in my book Tomorrow's Fish and is such a simple pattern to tie, yet catches fish everywhere. It?s tied with light brown body glass over bare hook at...
Here is my choice for what you are looking for.
This pattern is my first choice for the Fall Olives. I fish it in wet fly fashion with the last 6 inches of tippet greased heavy to keep the pattern in or near the film.
Love the looped butt! Great pattern....looks like a nice prospecting pattern.
Can't think of any that I feel "won't" catch fish. But I can say there are a few that I just plain old seldom tie anymore, let alone fish. Can't remember the last time I caught a fish on a standard...
Last I heard she was recuperating well.
Ducksterman hit on a good point. We are all thinking trout patterns. But throw in warm water, and all bets are off. You never have enough colors. :)
I would add Grizzly and Silver Badger. Cree is VERY useful, but you can combine Griz/Brown until you find the perfect hackle at the perfect price since they carry a premium. I also have a Golden...
I'm in the same boat. CDL for almost all of my tailing, and necks over saddles for all around usable feathers.
My main Bass rod is a Cabelas 9' 6wt TLR rod. Like it alot. they are on sale right now for $79. :)
The Pine Creek Nymph
This Pattern was originally tied for the Upper Pine Creek in Tioga County PA. It has become my go-to pattern in many Central PA streams over the years. I tie this...
Great review. Very consistent with what I've seen over the years. With the ability to pick and cull necks you can often find the best of all of them. But I agree that for comparisons sake, in a mail...
THIS....is an excellent pattern!
This pattern has been in my box for nearly 20 years. It was inspired by the Gold-Ribbed Hare?s Ear, yet holds its own as significantly different on the water. Less ?spikey? than its...
Uncle Jesse, I'm working on that, along with the auto-focus of my camera. :)
I fondly refer to the Naches Bee as being the ?Incidental hatch?. It was tied out of curiosity after watching native Cutthroat feed on a swarm of bees along an Eastern Washington State...
That puppy should float like a cork!
I use furled thread leaders and flourocarbon tippet for all of my trout fishing. Anything 5x and smaller I have never had an issue. I have noticed a higher sink rate with my bass tippet though....8#...
Happy Birthday FAOL!
Neil, it is a pleasure Sir, and thanks to all that help out as well.
Thanks to both Deanna & yourself,
