i caught him ona a red and black marabou leech, with bead chain eyes so the fly goes point up.

caught my first fish on the fly this tuesday, a freshwater Drum i caught while fishing the red River in Manitoba. I caught it on a brown and orange clouser minnow.
I'm in! But i'm a newbie tyer and my flys are all what i call "cripples" because theres always something wrong with them! but ill try my best for this.

Well it seems that the person who wound the backing on my reel used just a little bit too much, and when i am reeling in the last 2 feet of line it starts to bind and rub against my reel making it...
Maybe a muddler minnow for the bullhead fry??
i just tied a size 8 clouser using fox body hair (belly) and squirrel tail....looks good. I used Bead chain for weight, but im not sure if i used a heavy enough size.
What part of ontario are you going to?? It's BIG and there are about 250,000 lakes to choose from!
