I bought one a few years ago from Ron...
Another option.

Nice reels.
I really like thin silk with no CP. I like being able to see the work that has been done on the guide feet. I like how translucent it looks, like it was poured on.
Sorry. After spending 40 + years in Wisconsin, I think I've paid my dues.
My local weather.

I got mine off of ebay. Same tool. Same original battery life. I picked up a replacement battery from Radio Shack and it's been fine ever since. I do remember that their were lots of similar...
Sounds like a lower end Montague. Should weigh about 5 1/2 ounces. Line for it will probably be a 6 or a 7wt. When new it sold for about $ 8.00.
Erik
A couple of passes with a rat tail file will probably be plenty. You may want to get a large enough file to really minimize the work and keep it as round as possible.

Re: the wrap colors, if you plan on using CP, black wraps with small orange tips (like the older Heddon 17s) is a very nice combination on a darker blank and it would also work well with your choice...
Paul,
I've got a W&M Water Seal 9053. Not a lot of calm days to check it out. Come visit.
Erik
I'm thinking a 7wt. bamboo, silk and a Pflueger 1495 1/2 for those calm days.
Thanks Shorthaul.
Do some searches on Clark's Bamboo Forum. Some of the guy's over there do some awesome wraps. Some use a mixture of Varnish and Walnut Alkyd.
...
With a full time job and a bunch of Tax Returns due by 4/15 it looks like I'm going to be busy. Thankfully waiting for glue/varnish/epoxy to dry should give me enough time to pay the bills.
I'm OK...
Got mine this morning. ~ 3500 miles in a little over 3 days and in perfect shape.
Thanks Brad,
Erik
I have no problem extending the completion date as it's Tax Season - my busy time.
These are out of his defined dimensional parameters. But if he doesn't have one, he should.
Erik
Have you weighed the first 30' of the line? Maybe it's not a 7wt. If it's a WF is it installed properly?
Erik
Hi Brad,
Sorry to be different, but could I get the butt section cut about 2" shorter than the tip section.
Thanks,
Erik
Marco,
Hated to do it. I spent 40 plus years in Wisconsin. I had enough of winter.
Erik
And I think he finished his night here. Heard rumors that he was surfing in Waikiki before heading back to the NP.

I'm in on the Tadpole rod swap and I'd like to try and do some spigot ferrules. Sounds like most use ice rod blanks. Are there any quality alternatives other than solid glass rods? I'd like to pick...
I'm in for two blanks.
For those of you that will be putting a spigot ferrule, maybe we could do a group buy on the ferrule material.
Erik
If it's a 9' with a 13/64" tip ferrule, I've got a spare tip section.
