    season can have somthing to do with it also, In alaska during the fall the some of the rainbows start to darken up and a few get pretty black for the winter. Dont know why.

    both rods are good, but the winston is built overseas and the launch is made in washington state. Also they both come with rod tubes. I think you would be happy whatever way you go
