Why wipers (hybrid striped bass) of course! The fishing is not so great, mindless blind casting in a large lake, but the catching is a blast. In the peak of the season, these things will routinely pull you into your backing. Too bad the bite only lasts about 6 weeks.

I'm all for panfish but my secret favorite is the Rock Bass, specifically the Ozark Bass that inhabit our limestone ladened creeks. Lots of fun, aggressive and always willing.

Mine is the Texas "Spotted Bass".There are lots of them. They eat like trout or Big bad bass. Some times taking nymphs, Some time sipping dry flys. Most of the time I take them on Poppers,or foam creations I call shoeflies.
The best part is they act like cheerleaders. Jumping free of the water 4 or 5 times when taken on a 5 wt outfit. I find them in the rivers of Texas like the Brazos, Trinity, and my home waters of the Paluxy River. Yep just a fun little fish growing from 10 to 16 inches.
The fight is what I came for. A fight is what I get.

I fish for anything that swims-trout,sm bass, lm bass, pike, carp"attempt to at least", gills and crappie. Near my home in ottawa the fishing is best for smallies and crappie so thats what i fish for mostly- i'd love to catch a carp but theyre too bloody smart!
