Teton River, or Chesterfield Reservoir. Maybe Henry's Lake if my buddy wants to go. Only been twice this year, and it's making me nuts. A dose of pmd sippin' rainbow's would go over good about now.

Might get in a good half-day at Kitty's pond. Dinah needs her hydro-therapy. http://www.flyanglersonline.com/bb/smile.gif
Prololy do a lot of preping for our Canada trip....leaving the following w/e.

I'm on vacation starting the minute I leave the office on Friday - Gonna cover as much of TN as possible.
I will be on the Talachulitna River for the morning and evening trout peak times, and pike fishing at Shell Lake during the other times. The "Tal" is fishing real good now as the King Salmon are charging in and the trout are schooling right behind them waiting for the egg drop. It was crazy good last Sunday-Tuesday and only should be better this weekend. Caught a 40" pike last weekend on a 7wt at Shell Lake where my cabin is, and lots of 20" - 26" "hammerhandles".
Nothing this weekend, but the 'Pan early next week.
PhotoJoe--dont' bother with the Crooked, fish counts are way off from what they used to be probably due to the high water this winter...but ODFW just did fish counts a month or so ago and there are only 500 fish per mile now compared to 3000+ in the past...
I'd hit the D, Metolius or go back to the Wilson...I was just there today and caught a beauty of a 16" searun...great fun on my little 3 wt...
Clarkman, sorry to hear that. I was hoping it would be fishable by later this summer, but sounds like this wet winter was just a bit too much for the fish to take. Only reason I wasn't planning on hitting the Met was because I figured it would be PACKED with all the other 'boo nuts. Hopefully the Deschutes will be a bit less crowded.

P.S. What were they biting on when you were on the Wilson? I got mine on a Yellow Stimulator, even though there weren't all that many bugs flying around that matched it.
Photojoe,
I was just using a little yellow sally imitation...looked like an oversized EHC....and light green...you've gotta go early or late though...I got nothing after about 10...
you should head to the D...Maupin will be less crowded (although there are more rafters) but there's still plenty of places since the Salmonfly/Golden Stone hatch is done even up near Mecca...plus, those fish fight like crazy...you think you have a pig on that takes you into your backing until you get it to hand and realize it's a 15 incher...
Good luck!!

~Sometimes when I reflect back on all the beer I drink I feel ashamed. Then I look into the glass and think about the workers in the brewery and all of their hopes and dreams. If I didn't drink this beer, they might be out of work and their dreams would be shattered. Then I say to myself, "It is better that I drink this beer and let their dreams come true than be selfish and worry about my liver."

Photojoe - I can honestly say, I know the Wilson like the back of my hand. I had a great friend who owned the house at swinging bridge for years. I always considered the Wilson a Salmon Steelhead river...and fall cutts too. The Trask was actually better for cutts, just down from Gold Creek to the mouth. A nice drift. As far as eastern Oregon goes, instead of the Metolius, try Fall Creek. It is alot like the Metoliou, spring fed, same height always, same temp. always. Lots of good access. Good luck, take care and hope you connect. Jonezee

I just got back from a couple days of fishing on the Fall River in northern California (my favorte place to fish even though it kicks my butt every time).
I caught 8, landed 7, but all were small (averaging about 7 inches long). Our host was using spin gear and landed 10 or 11 small ones during Saturday's evening fishing...he had a 14 incher the night before and one of the other fly flingers landed a nice 12-14 incher Saturday.
The best one I hooked danced on top of the water briefly then remote released himself before I could size him up. Probably only 10 inches at best but at least he danced nicely before taking off.
For sheer numbers, that's my best trip there yet. I've caught larger trout on that river in the past but never that many in a single trip.
Very beautiful area!
