All I can say is WOW!
Reviving this for the benefit of newer members who might not understand the "Swamp Witch Thing".
Well, yeah, and also to see if I can rile up Betty....
;)
:) :) :)

He knows Betty is chasing nonexistent trout in the Badlands.
Every time I read this, it still makes me smile.
I was piddling around at my bench recently and came up with a creation probably too large, although I may give it a try, for trout but just right for bream. Sparkly foam strip body colored purple with a magic marker, calf tail wings, black hackle, tail from pheasaant body feather. Only one name came to me "Swamp Witch."

Is that white hair from your beard, or Betty's? (Thank you, Rainbowchaser.)

P.S. I got an e-mail from our favorite Swamp Witch. She sent her love. Apparently there's a late Eastern Green Drake hatch going on. She said something about hexes flying thick and fast...
I assume that is calf tail, it was in a tying kit given me by a friend who had been gifted it by the widow of a fly tyer.
I don't know anything about Betty having a beard and I haven't had one in several years, but it was that white. One year around Christmas some of the younger kids were giving me that inquiring look and one two year old wanted to come sit in my lap. Talking about making my day.
If I were allowed to have a beard here at work, it would be almost that white, AND I wouldn't have to use a fake one with the red and white suit. MABYE,,,,, it would help repell flying hexes also???
For about 5 years I would grow a beard for a Christimas program at out church, it was called "A Walk Through Bethelem". The idea was to portray Bethelem the night Christ was born, I was playing the part of a 1st century merchant in costume. With the return of warm weather I would shave, everyone would say "You look so much younger without the beard." I quit play a merchant and started help park cars, let a young guy be the merchant. I do not need assistance looking older.
OK Gang, let's review. I started this thread about Swamp Witches of the Betty strain and within a month I got tagged by a brown recluse. I revive the thread and, in a couple of days, come down with a sinus infection. I suggest that Miss Betty stay away from Salem, Massachusetts. The circumstantial evidence is piling up.
