And the recipe:
Hook: #8 TMC 5262
Weight: 12 wraps .025 lead free wire
Thread: black
Tail: black marabou
Rib: fine copper wire
Flash: 2 strands black holographic Flashabou
Body: varigated black/olive chenille
Hackle: black rooster saddle
Feedback greatly appreciated. Glad to be a part of this swap. Thanks!
John
Looks pretty good John. I'll bet it catches fish!
In case anyone was wondering, that was the common theme of the flies for the swap. Reasonably simple flies that are good producers on the water.
Peacock Midge
hook sz 14 scud
thread 8/0 uni tan
body peacock herl
wing CDC white
Peacock CDC Midge
Peacock with CDC put this fly among the very best adult midge patterns available. It works well when fished early in a midge hatch or when midges are available to trout but not mating. Larger sizes also work well for fish taking chironomids on lakes.
Granted a very easy tie but hey I didn't pick it it was assigned LOL
Once I get a few tied up I will try to post a picture.
Blue thanks for letting me in, everyone else lets have some fun. I am looking forward to see what comes out of this swap.
I have not tied an ant in a while. I will have to see if I can come up with a good one.
I have to hand it to you, this is a great idea for a swap.

Midges are tied. I will try to get a picture posted, then they will go in the mail.
My scuds are done. However, I do not have the appropriate means to post a pix. ol' blue, can you post a photo once they reach you?
Thanks.
Thom
Sure, I will try to do a full set of pictures and post them. No guaratees about the quality of pics, though. ;)
After much consideration and consternation I decided on this hopper pattern.
It is a variation of the Souhegan Hopper.
Hook: #10 2x dry fly
Body: yellow craft foam
Head: Brown craft foam
Under wing: natural deer hair
Wing: Mottled web wing. Lt dun
dubbing: ly-rite, Lt tan
Legs: Sili legs, orange barred.

I should be finished tying and toetagging by Thursday. Jim
