I asked Sci Anglers that question once and the answer I got was: "most fly fishermen don't reverse thier DT lines".Quote:

jeffnles1,
What line was on the rods you test casted? You said you liked the feel of the rods. The line has a lot to do with it.
I don't know. I didn't think to ask while I was there. I will ask when I'm in the shop in November (see below...)Quote:

Unfortunately, there are no shops within a 2 hour drive of me that sell Winston for me to actually do a good compariason test. The shop I did the test was about 5 hours away. I visited there while in the Smokey Mountains fishing. I will be back there again in November and can do another test drive before buying. I'll be buying from that shop as they have been very good to me every time I've been in town.
I wish they had a Winston WT in 3wt so I could compare the B2T and the WT head to head with the Orvis.
Hey, does anyone know is the Orvis Superfine Trout Bum series of rods USA made?
Jeff
gramps, I don't know because I don't have one. I do have the 'new' line and it has one.
I'm not sure how many SA lines have a loop now. I bought a Mastery Trout WF and it had one.Quote:

If that's the case, I reckon Vermont is in America now. :lol:Quote:

jeffnles 1, RW here,,
I 've sworn by Cortland lines for years but recently got a Rio DT1-weight trout line. Like DG mentioned in his post, DT's are economical for obvious reasons.
I have turned to small stream trout fishing and panfishing almost exclusively lately and got the Rio to put on the spare spool for my Hardy fly weight reel. It is everything they say it is: Ultra-supple and memory free even in cold weather.
I won't stop using Cortland either, but I love the Rio.
By the way, what's the big deal about the loop. Who needs one?
