MEGA SPRING SWAP
For some of us, February is the beginning of the pre-spawn. For others, it's March. This swap is one of mass proportions. There will be 30 openings for participants. Swappers will have 5 months to tie 29 flies of one pattern.
Patterns are to be nymphs, streamers, or dry flies. Flies should be tied and mailed in by February 1st.
Please send a self-addressed stamped envelope for the return of your flies to:

Oh,oh,oh pick me, pick me!!!!
I'm in.......Blue Ridge Caddis. Just made that up, kids. http://www.flyanglersonline.com/bb/smile.gif LOL
It'll be a little gray caddis(hmmm, or maybe olive). At any rate a caddis - probably with the hackle forward style. Good for slow and fast water.

Ok, now this swap has my attention. I would love to join. I think I will tie up a damsle nymph or a dragon "bottom walker", but I have not decided yet.

I've decided on a fly finally. Sounds like everyone is pulling out all the stops, so....to keep pace, I'll attempt the CDC Holographic Suspending Midge as seen on FAOL.

Panfish,
Is there still room for one more?
That is if you don't mind a cheez head from Wisconsin. Our season is all but over so I have already been at the vise. I really like the older flies so I'll tie what I think is a very neat looking fly the Ginger Quill. Should have no problem meeting the dead line.
Thanks to all.

There are 17 members thus far. Great turn out and thanks for joining.
This seems to be a very interssting swap. Lots of exciting patterns!
My fly is not the Jeremiah Nymph One but the Jeremiah Nymph Two.
-
I would like to participate. Will let you know pattern of choice before long. Thankyou.

Hi there, another local NW Ark guy here. I'll tie a midge that I hooked a huge trout on last Friday! A Yong Special.

My pattern will be a slightly different version of the black nosed dace. This works very well for me early in season.

I would like to be part of the swap if there is still an opening.
I will tie a Blond Tellico Nymph.
Jack

OK - Ill sign up. My entry will probably be a variation of the prince nymph.

Guys, I am sorry but I'm going to bow out. Give my place to slicfoot. http://www.flyanglersonline.com/bb/wink.gif
I have tried for about the last six months to get into some swaps and I always end up biting off more than I can chew at home and work.
you guys have fun.

I'll be tying my slighly modified version of a #16 Deer Hair Emerger (DHE) which was featured in one of the big mags early last summer. It produced well for me under some tough conditions. Here is my recipe:
Hook- Mustad Sig. C49s #16 (curved caddis)
Thread- Gray/Brown UTC 140
Body- olive/brown Superfine dub
Rib- tying thread
Wing- deer hair, tied comparadun style
Thorax/Legs- australian opposum, teased out
Head- tying thread
I hope y'all like it more for its fish production than its looks; it really isn't much to look at but boy do those tough selective fish love it!!
God bless and tight lines,
EF

Tyers will need to tie 22 flies of one pattern. If you can, please tag your flies. I occassionally forget to tag them myself. If I have left you out, please notify me. Owl's blue ridge should have been the only one to drop out.
Remember to send the flies with a SASE (self-addressed stamped envelope) to:

Fayetteville, AR 72703
DEADLINE FOR MAIL-IN IS FEBRUARY 1ST (or just a little bit afterwards).
Wayne, you had better not be out catching those smallies out on the Middle Fork again!

I previously reported that I would be tying a variation of the Prince Nymph for this swap. However during a recent fishing hunting/trip I fished with a fly I will call a BH Emu Nymph that really got to some nice rainbows. It was fished just above the weed beds of the impoundment. So - I will tie the BH Emu Nymph for the swap. If you go to the below address you will find a picture of the fly w/ingredients.

Hello, please count me in. I will be tying the olive gold ribbed hares ear.
-
MEGASWAPPERS. I had Waterbum listed twice. However, PaulB wants to join. So, we'll keep tying the same number of flies. For those just reading the list, this swap has been closed to other swappers at this time. We have not met the 30 members but we still need time to tie up patterns.
-
Hmm . . looks like it's time to hit the Middle Fork again :-)
