For Sale - Montague Built circa 1910 Yellowstone Special

This is a 8 1/2' 3 piece rod with two tips. On tip is slightly longer than 32" and the other three at 34 1/2". When I bought this rod, it was in need of restoration, with a few wraps needing redone and one missing eye on one tip section. I have finished all the restoration to bring this rod to the state of being a wonderful example of the quality that a higher end Montague rod is. The butt section was short bellow the male ferrule so I did a scarf to bring it back to full length. You can see the scarf in picture #3. The rod comes in a new bag I made or you can display it in the wood rod holder that came with the rod. I replaced the old cloth as it was very tattered and falling off the wood holder.

The Yellowstone Special was made by at least three builders, E.W. Edwards, F.E. Thomas and Montague. It is a very beautiful rod and I have had it out fishing and I used an old Pflueger 1494 1/2 reel with 6wt line. That seams to be a great combination for this old girl!

I am asking $175 for the rod, and $12.95 shipping insured in the continental US.
