Caney Fork on the Fourth

I took the family to the picnic area right below the dam yesterday. I figured if the fishing was slow our son, AJ would enjoy the playground. We all had a good time and ate some really good burgers off the grill. I only caught one brookie though. Seemed like the fishing was better across the river. I did fish with a dropper fly, which is something I rarely do, but I wanted to try and to practice. I caught the brookie on a green weenie, which is becoming my "go to" fly. I forgot the camera though and don't have a single pic. The canoe and kayak hatch was in full swing however.
