Building a rod
I am interested in building a flyrod,(never tried yet) that will be heavy enough to handle catfish in the mighty Minnesota River, and graceful enough to work the bluegil out of the cattails on those remote wilderness lake. If anyone could recomend some reading or informational sites that would be great!

Wow, I agree with JC on this one. I haven't found a 3wt and 10wt in one rod yet either.

The ol' one rod to does it all.
Have to agree with JC as well.

You could always noodle for the catfish and choose a rod for the panfish!

If you build one rod, you will most likely build more -- It's an addictive hobby! I ran into a fellow a couple yrs ago who builds rod. We had a nice visit and he said if a golfer could have 13 clubs he could have 13 rods. I'm not quire there
