Welcome Ewan!
Ewan
Saw your post on the Customer thread. Welcome to FAOL. Folks Ewan and I got to know each other over on a smallmouth bass website. He's a great guy and will be a welcomed addition here. I should warn you though he is a mad Scottsman and is partial to good single malt and Scott fly rods. lol
Now for this glowing intro, you can send those unmarked $20 bills we talked about. *G*

How does the saying go "Any friend of yours is worth keeping an eye on"? http://www.flyanglersonline.com/bb/smile.gif
Don't worry Ewan we won't hold your prior knowledge of anglerdave against you. Welcome and enjoy this place.

why do i suspect this is evil dave's imiginary friend?

Just ignore that D. Micus guy Ewan. His imaginary friend is giving him the silent treatment and he is taking it out on all of us. http://www.flyanglersonline.com/bb/wink.gif
Welcome to the board! Any friend of anglerdaves is. . . .well. . . .a friend of anglerdaves!! http://www.flyanglersonline.com/bb/wink.gif
Don
PS We look forward to your input.

Thanks for the welcome. I was planning on lurking for a while and not being so upfront and crashing right into the pool so to speak, but why break the habit of a lifetime. I indeed met Dave on a Smallmouth website, and he and I have returned emails on a lot of topics and grumped about a particular rod we both dont like.
Bit about myself if anyone is that interested heh heh. As Dave said, Im Scottish but have an American wife of 19 years. We came home to Virginia 6 years ago and I have been aclimatizing myself with all things American since then. You know, looking at fire hydrants and wondering what they are, and that kind of thing.
I've fly fished now for nigh on 30 years mainly for trout and Atlantic Salmon back home. I own too may rods, my wife thinks most of them cost 49.99, and as Dave said I'm a Scott rod fan. (Co-incidence though). I tie badly, and to a fashion and will get bit if the fish is one eyed and deaf. http://www.flyanglersonline.com/bb/biggrin.gif
Ive Spey fished on the Spey, River Tay, The Rivers Dee and Don ect ect, but then I've never fished the Snake, The Yellowtone, The Deshuettes or the Au Sable...so its all relative, I reckon....heh heh.
Thanks again for the welcome. I hope I can add something from time to time. On reading however quickly, this sees to be a wonderful resource. A very good site. Two thumbs up.

Ewan,
Welcome! I have seen many of your posts on the Smallie board. You will LOVE this site as well. We are blessed to have some serious, mild mannered Irishmen on this board to keep those hot-headed, opinionated, Abel-hatin' Lithuanians (I refuse to say the name, but his initials are Dave Micus) in check!!! http://www.flyanglersonline.com/bb/wink.gif
Glad to have you in the FAOL family!
Mike

Abel? Uhoh.
LOL I confess to not liking their overpriced stuff either. Mind you that stems from a reel service problem, nah scratch that, a real reel disaster I had with them. Infact I got so miffed that one of their riduculously tiny and about useless multi tools will be found 5000 years from now, by archielogists in the woods 100 yards behind my house. They will take one look at it and recognize it as about useless too. I reckon 70% of the 40 buck price tag is recognition for minaturizing the thing to an unusable size. http://www.flyanglersonline.com/bb/biggrin.gif
Its nice to see you on here also OT. A fellow Celt.
