I tie it as a half-bullethead. Do so in order to keep the deer hair from flaring too much. When I get a chance, I will post a couple pics of that step.

Move thread to just behind the hook eye

Measure stacked deer hair and flare the hair just behind the eye Hold the deer hair on TOP of shank so it stays on TOP of the hook shank.

Being somewhat clumsy I always wrap the thread around the hair before I put it on the hook.
Keeps it up better for me.
