I sort of like the silhouette (sp?) of the loop wing Adams. I like using hackle stems for the wings.

Loop wings are something I have tried but don't use, however your fly made me think of a technique by my friend Jens Pilgard. The Origami Wing. It is a little more solid than yours but would look very good on your fly.

Might this work. I do not have curve shank hooks which would "rest" the wing better, I think.

That's the idea Byron. Jens kinks the stem so they will sit more upright. It does make for a more defined wing. I like the way the grizzle you have used shows up.

I'm thinking that stripping the outer edge of the loop wing but cutting the fibers on the inner edge to a certain size could make for some nice venation and fill out the wing

Post a pic. I have tried that and the cut fibers tended to hug the inside of the stem.
I don't have the capability for good pics but I can envision the point you're making.
