I fancied myself a rod builder for a while, and bought an Amtak blank, the one with the fancy spirals on it, and played "make a silk purse out of a sow's ear" with it. It's an 8' 4 wt, amboyna reel seat, pretty hand turned grip, and can't remember what guides I put on it. So I did an OK job with it, and it looks great to me, and casts nice, but I have other rods I like better. In terms of money, it's worthless to me, but somebody just starting out or looking for something pretty might like to have it?
