Winter fishing in VA

Anyone have any suggestions for winter fishing in or around the Waynesboro area of Virginia?

NCV, there are tons of spots to hit in that area!! Highly recommend the South River. That is a Special Regulation area where it's C&R only in the Winter and Spring!! Let me know if you want any other advice!!

How about the North River just outside of Staunton.A friend and I fished the DH section and did pretty well.

About 45 minutes from Waynesboro is a Trophy Trout Stream called Mossy Creek. It is a classic meadow limestone stream but holds some trophy brown trout. The fish are very spooky but you may want to try it out.

I fished the put and take section of North Creek today - one rainbow probably a stocked fish on a Prince nymph. A good day for me since I'd been skunked on the last few trips.

Rich, I fished up at North Creek a couple weeks ago and the fishing was slow then as well. That water can be up and down so it's hard to know what to expect one day to the next. How long you been fishing North Creek?
