Trout Behavior
Not wanting to hijack another thread I thought I'd start this one. Going back in time there have been some books that had some good photos of trout behavior. Books by the likes of Ed Hewitt, Marinaro, and some others come to mind. As more researchers studied the matter, wrote about it and photographed it in more detail, we learned a lot. Yes, we were learning a lot. However, if a picture is worth 1,000 words, we can now, through modern day videographers, learn 1,000,000 worth of words in a single 45 minute dvd. For example, try viewing, 'The Underwater World of Trout', vol. 1 and/or 2, by Wendell Ozefovich. You may be very surprised at the behavior of the trout and may even question a lot of what you've previously accepted as true. If you've seen either of these videos, did it change the way you fish?

Allan,
I watched Vol 1 a couple times. My single biggest takeaway from it is to expect trout _anywhere_. Just because, from the angler's vantage point, it may not look favorable does not make it such. The trout will make up their own mind what is a good spot for them.
Cheers,
