Last R. A. Fick Bamboo fly rod.

For sale, R. A. Fick 8', 5 weight, 2 piece bamboo fly rod. The rod is marked "D8013" which I suspect stands for Dickerson 8013.


This rod is the last rod made by rod maker Rick Fick. It came to me in a lot of equipment and supplies I purchased this summer. The rod was nearly completed when Rich passed away. I completed the rod doing the following:


1) Varnished one tip that had a spot that had been sanded.
2) Made and installed a reel seat.
3) Made the rod bag.
4) Purchased an aluminum tube.


The reel seat is all nickel silver with the hardware being made by me and the filler provided by Jeff Hatton of Paonia, Colorado. The wood is cherry taken from the cherry tree just outside of Jeff's shop.


Rick's rods seldom turn up on the used market. Here is a chance to own a new R. A. Fick rod.
