Lamson Litespeed
Any of you fine anglers fish the Lamson Litespeed? I've been tipped off that my Father-in-law is buying me an Orvis Helios 7.5 ft 3 wt for Christmas, so I thought I'd start looking for a cool little reel to go along with it. What do you folks think of this reel? Or if you have a better suggestion...I'm all for muddying up my decision making process...afterall, the gear buying/researching is so fun! Thanks so much in advance!
Best,

I have bought other reels and always go back to my Lamsons. Tough reels and swiss watch-like drags.
Also consider a Velocity. I actually like the Velocity better than the Litespeed. Plus you'll save a few coins going with a Velocity.

CPH,
I have one that I use on my Sage Z-axis. I like it fine. I'v put it to a lot of use and no problems at all. Best Regards....

I own five of them, and have a tough time buying any other reel.

Absolutely love mine. I have litespeeds, velocities, konics, and have used the new guru. There's not a bad one in the bunch, but the litespeed will be a great lightweight compliment to a Helios. I say go for it. I certainly would.

I've got Orvis, Ross, Billy Pate, Sage, and Lamson reels. The Litespeed is a very nice reel, probably technologically superior to the others. But it's just not pretty. I really like my Ross Evolution even though it may not be as good a reel. It just looks pretty, feels nice, and winds nice. I can't explain why I am in love with that reel. I just am. But I would still date the Litespeed when the Ross is out of town.
Godspeed and good fishing,
Bob

The Orvis BBS is a nice light reel for a 3wt.
