Caney Fork Fishing Trip
Healing Waters took some of us vets on a weekend fishing trip on the Caney Fork river in Middle Tennessee. WarrenP was one of the Volunteers that help. It was very nice to see them understand how knowledgeable he is about fly fishing. People was coming out of the wood work to get to him on Friday night and Saturday and asking him to help them catch more fish. I thank him and all the volunteers that gave up their time for us Vet's. By the way I caught 32 fish and had a great week-end trip.

It was a great outing for the Vets. I think they said there were around 130 vets there. They tried to make sure there was at least volunteer with 2 vets when fishing. The Caney did not let anyone down. There were 20 volunteer guides for those who wanted to float and some wanted to just wade. All in all, I think everyone caught fish and had a great time. It did rain, but, no one seemed to mind too much. On Saturday, before they opened up the generators, 2 fishermen, who were not with our group, put their V-bottom boat in and, using spinning gear, bounced jigs right in the rushing water coming from the generator and hooked a 26 pound Brown. Sorry, I was not there and no pictures.
Wayne (Newbee) caught this nice brookie and wanted a picture and the picture is not too great since the fog was there plus he was probably 50 feet away, but, here it is:

There were a lot of nice brookies caught and one vet below me caught a brown that was about 18 inches. He was too far away from me to get a picture.

Overall, when it was a great success even with the rain and the 500+ kayakers:
