Thanks Yonk--I have been building net frames and this is the best one that I have ever seen. It shows me the best way to cut the grove around the frame. Havent had time to read it all to see what glue he is using --- I'm experimenting with Titebond 111--latest waterproof glue.

Making Wood Landing Nets
Hello all. I remember some time back seeing a thread about building wooden landing nets. I came across this website the other week: [url=http://www.joelwoodworks.com/index_files/page0020.htm:efb26]http://www.joelwoodworks.com/index_files/page0020.htm[/url:efb26]
It has some pretty detailed instructions on the topic. I gave it a try and so far it is working good. I still have the finish work to do but the tips on steaming and bending worked great.
Thought you might be interested...

I used titebond 3 for my net as well. I've heard of some bamboo rod makers using it with sucess so it should work fine for the nets. I think the key is to get a good finish on the outside so the glue doesnt have to ever come in contact with the water.
or if your like me and don't catch big enough fish to net then it should be just fine.... :-)
Happy net making
