Primarily, that's bass country. The closest trout fishing is in the Shenandoah Nationaly Park. There are also trout streams in Maryland and West Virginia that aren't too awfully far. I believe there is a stocked stream in Northern VA near Fairfax I think. You can check in with these folks for more info:

If you are in Dulles, and I remember my HS geography correctly you aren't too awful far from the Gunpowder River.
It's NW of Baltimore, and it's a tailwater fishery. That is all that I can tell you as I have never fished it.
Hopefully a local will chime in.

I have a friend in Haymarket who has a very cold spring on his property. This indicates to me that there is at least a possibility of trout fishing around there!

Forget about trout. You are near the Holy Lands of River Smallmouth. Grab some muddlers and buggers and get the religion!
