Keepin me fingers crossed!!! Worked!!!!!!!
My wife went to the bank this morn and got a bit of a shock,Our account had been pretty much wiped out....They would not give her any info as it's in my name...But after a phone call after she got home, We found out that an unauthorized transaction had occured through Paypal Jr...Did not know there was such a thing...Got their # from the bank and after a few miniutes talking with them... They say that my money should be returned within 10 days....
Has anyone else delt with Paypal Jr...in a matter such as this???..If so, Did you get your money back...I've been off work since Mar 19th with a head injury...and we cannot, at this time afford the loss....
Thanks all and,
Re: Keepin me fingers crossed,
A GOOGLE search did not find a company called 'PayPal Jr'
Most likely a scam.
Re: Keepin me fingers crossed,
A scam for certain. That sucks. Really stinks.
Bill, please promise me that if you need help you will contact me. I am just over the mountain from you. That's what friends are for.
Re: Keepin me fingers crossed,
Well it appears as you gents are dead on....was just in the ebay discussion boards and asked if any of the sellers had heard of them....and it appears that you gents may want to keep an eye on the forsale board in the coming days.....gonna be a fun day tommorow letting the wife know...shes been in tears all day today already over this....
Bank said to wait and see if they'd make good on having my money back in 10 day's...But I think I need go and have a talk with them for their word on this....really not a good time for this...Thanks all...Bill
Re: Keepin me fingers crossed,
Bill who is promising the refund - Paypal Jr or Ebay?
I really hope this gets righted real fast. I have had good results from ebay when scammed a couple of times.
Re: Keepin me fingers crossed,
Hmmm. Bill, it sounds like perhaps you "updated" your information to a scam request pretending to be either Ebay or Paypal. If so I am afraid you are stuck. Hope it wasn't too much but if it cleaned you out it could have been several hits so not to draw attention. These things are often set up against a credit card. How did they get into your bank account? If on the other hand you simply have an ebay and pay pal account and somehow someone ripped you off, ebay should make good as I believe some years ago ebay bought paypal. If not, be sure and get an official report as I believe your loss may be deductible on next years taxes if you have paperwork officiating your loss.
Good luck,...Bob
Re: Keepin me fingers crossed,
Not to jump in here. The company that promised the refund was PayPal. Not sure what difference it will make either we will get our refund or wont. The card is shut down. We did not offer any further information...only the frozen credit card number. We will be making a visit to the bank, they have said to fill out papers and if our money is not returned in a timely fashion, they should be able to do something on their end.
What a nightmare is all I can say !! Check your bank accounts daily, and no more ordering online for us... he better get a catalog !!
Re: Keepin me fingers crossed,
Not only would I be all over PayPal but I'd find out who the money was sent to and for what type of transaction and file an internet fraud complaint at which is:
The Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3) is a partnership between the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the National White Collar Crime Center (NW3C).
IC3's mission is to serve as a vehicle to receive, develop, and refer criminal complaints regarding the rapidly expanding arena of cyber crime. The IC3 gives the victims of cyber crime a convenient and easy-to-use reporting mechanism that alerts authorities of suspected criminal or civil violations. For law enforcement and regulatory agencies at the federal, state, local and international level, IC3 provides a central referral mechanism for complaints involving Internet related crimes.
http://www.ic3.gov/
I'd also when you find out where your money was sent file an online complaint with the BBB
http://www.bbb.org/complaint.asp
I've been wary of getting a PayPal account but If I do I'm setting up a savings account and only transferring enough money in for the transaction I'm doing and no extra. I'd never do it against my checking account.
Hope you get back all your money, and hope you get better.

Re: Keepin me fingers crossed,
The thing is, That I had no bank or any other type of financial info with either my ebay or paypal accounts...Nore have i made any purchases since moving back to PA, at which time I also had to open a new checking account here....I had made a lot of purchases while in NY through both Ebay and Paypal... With no probs whatsoever..But none since moving back here...been doing a lot of looking at a particular set of punches for use with a drill..but, Thats the extent of my ebay account use..
As to how my debit card info was obtained by these ppl is a complete mystery to me...
When we called the ph# givin to us by the bank, we did not get an answer, So I called Paypal through the site...and when we got an answer..we even told them of this and they ask for the number, and said that, It was their number...The gentleman said they would be investigating the case thoroughly and we'd have the money back in our account within ten days....
But I still find the whole deal more than a little feeeshy....
I've not recieved any emails for updates of any info....Speaking of info..Thank you very much fatman..
