Glue and epoxy questions.

Hey everyone,

Was just checking out the 4wt kit I still have and it has a pack of glue and 2 packs of epoxy. My question is, I've used the left over epoxy from the rod to "glue" a couple other things I've had laying around together. Can I use the epoxy to put on the winding check, and the reel seat etc instead of the glue? Or do I need both the glue and the epoxy?

Shane most kits come with 2 packets of epoxy,one for the reel seat and the other for the grip. Im not sure about what your calling GLUE. There should also be a couple packets of 2 part ROD FINISH. This is used for your coating of the guide thread wraps. One pack should do the rod and the second if you feel it needs another coat. Rod finish takes longer to dry than the epoxy--usually 2 hours of turning every 15 minutes. BILL

Yeah, my last kit had 2 packets. This kit has 3 packets, two packets of rod finish, and one packet of glue. The finish is called "Custom Rod Building Finish", and the other is "Custom Rod Building Glue", both made by Pacific Bay.

Well, you answered my question, the epoxy will do it:)
