Great morning ...
This morning I was finnally able to make it to the river after work for about 40 mins. I brought with me a few flys I tied a few days ago. What fun, I landed my fist smalli after the second cast. This went on for the next 30 mins or so. A tottal of 14 fish was caught.... Man did I need that!!

Super! Makes it all the better when you get them on flies you tied. BTW, welcome to FAOL...you'll enjoy it here. Where are you located?

Caught my first smallie this summer too. (First on a fly rod and first ever for me). Great fun. Welcome to FAOL. Echoing the others, let us know little more about yourself by filling out your profile. There is a good chance that someone here lives close to ya!

Re: Great morning ...
Thankyou all for the warm welcome. I am from Monterey ca, but moved from there this last march. I am now located in elk river mn. Two blocks from the missippi river. That is where I was fishing. At the moment the river is low here; you could walk almost across it without getting you knees wet... lol. Having a rocky bottom it is home to some nice smalli fishing. Currently I am using a 5wt rod floating line. I used a elk hair dun wich I fished as a wet fly. It was great on almost each cast as soon as my fly made it down below me I got a hit. Often they hokked myself. Trully great fun. I hope to make it there again this weekend.....
