Check out the Griffin vices they hold well and are not expensive.
Howdy Joel......Cortland sells a pretty good vise with their basic kit for about $25 for the whole kit. I believe the vese is made in India.. or Pakistan. That's not so bad, even Dr. Slick scissors are from Pakistan now. I have a friend who got one of those kits and I've used his vise. It appears like it will last pretty well, and holds hooks tight enough to probably break them off if you wanted to. I believe Cortland has a website, and you could get one online...............Happy tyin'............ModocDan
What is your idea of inexpensive? For around $100 there is the Danvise so many here rave about. It is an in-line rotary type and used and sold by Al Beatty. Checkout his website for details.

I was afraid you'd ask...I don't remember but really did...I pay attention to the Danvise stuff cause I have two and really like them...they are a sponsor here and Al Beatty gives you some of the best customer service there is....
Check ebay and the For Sale forum here and do a google....
You can't go wrong with a Dyna King, Kingfisher for around $100.
Check Hook and Hackle, they have the cheapest prices on new vices I have found on the net.
Check EBay for the Danvise. There's been one for $65 (plus shipping) the past few days.
