1st peacock of 2011
back to freshwater fishing I guess...was surprised to see schools of peacocks when I looked into the canal while running the dogs...had only a 10wt so I got my 1st peacock and called it good...they will be on fire all this week as it warms up into the 80's...this was caught in upper 60's

Very nice, that is just one more fish I would like to catch some day.

Most excellent! Another species I'd like to tease with a fly someday.

GREAT colors! You have no idea how much your posts make me want to move to Miami! I think I have my wife talked into it...but it might have to wait until we retire. :)

its going to be a much better yr that last yr after the freeze kill...I seen several fish in the 7-8lb range with naked eye...if I wasnt out on the flats with a customer I would be nailing these guys

Beautiful male in spawning colors. By the way, what triggers the spawn in Florida? I've heard it has more to do with water levels rising ... or falling? Rather than water temperature.
The water temperature sure has a lot to do with their feeding habits. When the water temp here drops below 76 they just go into hibernation. But when it's 80 or above it's wild action.
My first Tuke this year.
